I wanted medical shirts that felt like they came from inside healthcare, so I started making the ones I wanted to wear myself.
Before medicine, there was art.
Long before medicine, I was always drawing—first in crayons, then pencil, and eventually digitally. I loved it enough to study graphic design in school and college before taking a detour into pre-med and pediatrics. I never became a professional designer, but art never really left; it just kept finding its way back into medicine.
And apparently, T-shirts were already part of the plan. In 2018, during pediatric residency, I sketched my first medical T-shirt concepts for our residency program—we never actually got them printed, but the idea clearly stuck.
